App overview
ggg (grid glitch glass) is an iOS photo-editing app that applies distortion and refraction effects reminiscent of looking at an image through grid-patterned glass.
How it began
I was drawn to graphics seen through transparent materials, such as the photographs of Saul Leiter and the key visual for Sakanaction’s live show “透明” (“Transparency”). That inspiration led me to begin creating work around the theme of transparency.
Using grid-patterned glass as a motif, I combine modeling of physical phenomena such as refraction and transparency with effects unique to software, including glitches and color noise. The goal is to make an app that lets anyone create compelling graphics with ease.
After a lot of experimentation, I feel I’ve arrived at a result I’m happy with.

The editing screen consists of a preview, three tabs at the bottom (Grid / Glitch / Glass), and a toolbar.
